SINGAPORE - Those disappointed by the postponement of mega-slide event Slide The City late last year have something new to look forward to next month.

Pharmaceuticals giant Bayer will hold a family-friendly street party on April 2 featuring a water slide that measures over 300 feet (91.4m) long with three lanes. According to the organisers, this is Singapore's longest street water slide.

There will also be game stations and a healthy food trail. Pre-registration for the event will start tomorrow (March 13) online at www.boostandslide.com.

The event will take place at Biopolis Way in One North, Buona Vista, from 9am to 6pm. Admission is free.

Bayer has organised the event in conjunction with the launch of a product, the Redoxon Triple Action, a health supplement.

This comes in the wake of the highly anticipated Slide The City Singapore event which was supposed to be held last November at The Float @ Marina Bay, but was postponed by the organiser, Brunei-based event management company Heroes, due to "unforeseen circumstances".

There would have been a 1,000-feet-long slide, which would stretch over a space about the size of three football fields. That event was ticketed and refunds have since been made.
