SINGAPORE - New York-based designer Jason Wu, 35, brought edgy feminine chic and pleated patchwork prints to the last night of Singapore Fashion Week 2017 on Saturday (Oct 28).

The Taiwan-born designer, whose fans include former United States first lady Michelle Obama and actresses Reese Witherspoon and Diane Kruger, showcased his Spring 2018 collection at the National Gallery Singapore's Supreme Court Terrace.

His was the penultimate show for the annual fashion event which closed on Saturday night with a runway show by local fashion label Arissa X by Arissa Cheo.

Cheo showcased a 30 piece collection with a grungy office girl aesthetic of off-the-shoulder shirts and ruffled asymmetrical skirts.

Modest fashion was also highlighted this year with three such shows featuring established designers from the region including Malaysia’s Jovian Mandagie and Indonesia’s Dian Pelangi.

The Indonesian modest wear designer showcased  bold print on print outfits, while Mandagie sent sporty silhouettes with furry accessories down the runway.
