SINGAPORE - Shakespeare's Globe is returning to Singapore in September with three iconic Shakespeare plays: Twelfth Night, The Merchant Of Venice and The Taming Of The Shrew.

The shows, to be staged at the School Of The Arts from Sept 18 to 22, are part of the British company's world tour that will also have stops in countries such as Austria, Spain and Germany.

In Singapore, the final two shows to be held on Sept 22 will be known as "audience choice" performances - which means that the audience members will get to pick the play out of the three that they most wish to see that day, just before the show begins.

Michelle Terry, artistic director at Shakespeare's Globe, said in a statement: "Our merry band will have three plays up their sleeve, and leaving the responsibility to choose the entertainment to the most powerful person in our household: The audience.

"It's experimental, it's experiential, it's Shakespearean, it's shared, and it's at the heart of all that we do. I'm excited to see what the people of Singapore will be picking."

Shakespeare's Globe is dedicated to the exploration of English playwright William Shakespeare's work and the playhouse for which he wrote.
