Perfect pork chop, not so perfect satay

The star dish at Violet Oon's new restaurant is the Hainanese dish with flavourful kurobuta pork but the chicken satay cooked on an electric grill is a letdown

A second Violet Oon Singapore restaurant opened at Ion Orchard last month bearing the same name as her six-year-old restaurant in Bukit Timah.

But like all the eateries by Oon, which include National Kitchen by Violet Oon at National Gallery Singapore and Violet Oon Satay Bar & Grill at Clarke Quay, it has its own identity even though it also shares menu items with the others.
