Actors David Oyelowo and Daniel Craig in the Sam Gold-directed interpretation of Shakespeare's Othello at the New York Theater Workshop in New York recently.

James Bond star Craig plays Iago in a production with a 21st-century American military setting, opposite Oyelowo (Selma, 2014) as Othello.

They have drawn praise from critics, with Craig's villainous performance described as "embodied with gritty brilliance" and Oyelowo saluted for his "fierce" Othello.

The off-Broadway sold-out show runs till Jan 18 and is co-produced by Barbara Broccoli of the Bond film series.
