KOGANE YAMA

This new tendon, or tempura donburi, restaurant in Bugis Junction is opened by the same group behind Korean eateries Chir Chir Fusion Chicken Factory and Masizzim.

Here, fresh meat, seafood and vegetables are coated in a fish-seasoned batter and deep-fried using a blend of soya bean-sesame oil.

Diners can choose from a Mixed Bowl ($15.80), Prawn Bowl ($13.80), Chicken Bowl ($13.80) or Vegetable Bowl ($11.80). The heartiest option is the Mixed Bowl Rice Set Meal ($17.80, above), which includes chawanmushi and miso soup or green tea. They can then opt to have their tempura with classic Japanese short-grain rice, soba (add $1) or thin udon (add $1) and top it off with a spicy or non-spicy soya tentsuyu sauce.
