Web marketing manager Edmund Lim, 37, is a father of two, yet he still finds the time to moderate a Facebook group with more than 14,000 members and manage a website that compiles DIY educational resources for preschool children.

With his wife, manufacturing planner Pearlyn Ng, 33, he started the Facebook group, Preschool Resources, in March last year.

They live in a four-room Housing Board flat in Sengkang with their two daughters, aged four and two.

Do you have a regular weekend?

Saturdays are busy for me as I am in charge of housekeeping. I try to do everything in the morning so that Sunday can be a family day out.

On Saturday evenings, I ferry my elder daughter to phonics class. After that, we head to a nearby mall for dinner and groceries.

When you have a weekend free, what do you like to do?

I take my daughters out for outdoor activities that relate to their school curriculum.

For example, the school theme last semester was animals and I took them to The Animal Resort at 81 Seletar West Farmway 5 to see and feed animals. Nothing beats hands-on learning.

As a working parent, the weekend is the only time when I can spend quality time with my family. Kids grow up really fast and I believe in creating a strong family bond with them when they are young.

What are your favourite places to go and why?

We like to go to Kallang Wave Mall. My daughters can play at the water playground, scoot around the park and play with sand at the beach volleyball court.

What are your hobbies?

I love singing and I am glad there is a Manekineko, a karaoke chain from Japan, at Safra Punggol. I took the whole family there last week.

If you could hang out with anybody, dead or alive, who would it be and why?

Jacky Cheung, who is my idol. When I listen to his songs, my mind seems to be refreshed. I feel he is a good role model - a good husband and father for me to look up to.

If you could go somewhere, where would it be and why?

We are organising a family trip to Perth next year. It will be our first family trip. Australia is a familyfriendly country with a lot of sightseeing to do and farms to visit. And, it is just a five-hour flight from here.
