Motherhood brings both challenges and opportunities. When Mrs Gayle Tan, 33, gave birth to her son, now 18 months old, she was overwhelmed by how much she did not know.

The full-time consumer communications manager says: "I thought breastfeeding would come naturally, but for me, this wasn't the case. I had mastitis, or clogged ducts, with multiple lumps in my boobs that even extended to my armpits. Breastfeeding is like an art - every woman's experience is different and I had to go online and figure out what to do."
