When will my car's timing chain need to be replaced?

The car's timing chain runs inside the engine, as it needs to be lubricated by the engine oil.

It usually does not need to be replaced unless there is a problem with it.

You can avoid potential problems by maintaining your car's engine in good condition and having the engine oil replaced or replenished at recommended intervals.

Timing belts, which run outside the engine, on the other hand, need to be replaced every 100,000km or so.
