Whatever fuel you have remaining in your tank is not about to undergo any chemical change if it has been left there for several months. Even 12 months will not cause any deterioration and the fuel definitely will not turn sour.

Decades ago, fuel kept in any container, including a car's fuel tank, would undergo a high level of evaporation and oxidation from the oxygen content in the air.
