When I was driving yesterday, my car made a clicking noise and then white smoke shot out of the tailpipe. What caused that? It was also slightly overheated two weeks ago.

White smoke is the result of coolant burning. Your car may have a blown engine head gasket or intake gasket.

You may need to send it to a workshop for an engine compression pressure and cooling system leaks test.
