Spotlight on SUVs

There is no star car in Torque's March issue. Instead, there is a constellation - of SUVs. Derided by many motoring enthusiasts for being inefficient, inelegant and undynamic, sport utility vehicles are nevertheless growing in popularity.

So much so that even Rolls-Royce and Lamborghini are adding them to their line-ups.

Torque throws the spotlight on this raging phenomenon, as well as the cars fuelling it. Look out for a series of SUV twin tests between the covers, including one pitting the new Audi Q7 against Volvo's second-generation XC90 - two 2-litre seven-seater off-roaders.

SUVs aside, readers can also look forward to Torque's signature group test. This time, the Ford Mondeo, Peugeot 508 and Opel Insignia battle it out. There is also a twin test between the new Volkswagen Passat and the old one.

Torque is out at newsstands now.
