In January, BMW launched its third-generation X3 sport utility vehicle here. Then, The Straits Times sampled the X3 xDrive30i M Sport with a 2-litre turbocharged engine.

This time, we tested the X3 M40i, which is the higher-end version with a 3-litre turbo engine and costs $56,000 more.
