When Mr Lim Eu Chin laid eyes as a young boy on his father's Jaguar Mark II's polished engine, he fell in love with the look of shiny metal on cars.

The 55-year-old retired executive had a 2006 Subaru Forester with polished WRX brake callipers. Last year, he scrapped it after clocking an incredible 415,000km in 12½ years.
