Education consultant Chalmers Chin, who stopped a wayward cab with his GTI, loves hatchbacks and old cars

Mr Chalmers Chin, the young man who used his Volkswagen Golf GTI to stop a runaway cab early this month, is a self-confessed petrolhead who honed his driving skills from Gran Turismo, a popular racing video game.

"I had a seat, steering wheel, pedals - the full set," he says. "I learnt a lot about driving through Gran Turismo, before I got my licence."
