Critics say the Vehicular Emissions Scheme (VES) will lead to a dumbing down of Singapore's car population as models with more sophisticated and powerful powertrains are replaced with cleaner but duller variants.

Audi's latest 190hp A4 debunks this notion. Performance-wise, the 2-litre car is streets ahead of its 150hp 1.4-litre twin.
