Subaru has introduced its first hybrid - the Forester e-Boxer. While hybrids are now commonplace, the move represents a quantum leap by a company known for its cautious stance towards changes.

What does the e-Boxer variant offer? In short, not very much. In real life, the car averages 10.5 litres/100km - about 10 per cent more efficient than an equivalent non-hybrid Forester.
