The new Lotus Elise is noticeably more refined than its predecessor, which was test-driven here nine years ago. The overall build quality has improved, with better insulation against noise, vibration and harshness. It even comes with a USB port.
But on the whole, you will still describe the compact roadster as both a joy and a pain.
