SINGAPORE -Good oral hygiene and care can help to prevent many oral diseases.

To maintain good oral health, it is important to regularly and effectively remove bacteria, the main cause of dental decay and gum disease, in the mouth, said Dr Fu Jiahui, a consultant at the Discipline of Periodontics at the National University Centre for Oral Health, Singapore.
