Film-maker Jennifer Fox's The Tale is about how she realised only in her 40s that what she had called a relationship in her childhood was actually abuse

Based on the true story of filmmaker Jennifer Fox, who realised in her 40s that she had been sexually abused as a child, The Tale was one of the most controversial films at the Sundance Film Festival in January, especially as it came on the heels of the #MeToo movement against sexual abuse.

This was first because of the disturbing sex scenes between its 13-year-old protagonist and the 40-year-old sports coach who abused her.
