Can Raffles Hotel become a World Heritage Site?


Raffles Hotel is not only a historical landmark, but is also known as one of the few "literary hotels" that provided both rest and inspiration for authors such as Somerset Maugham, Joseph Conrad and Noel Coward.

SINGAPORE - Fifteen new elements of intangible cultural heritage were added to Unesco's list last week. And earlier this year, 29 places were added to the United Nations group's list of World Heritage Sites, making a total of 1,121 sites today.

The Singapore Botanic Gardens, established in 1859 by the Agri- Horticultural Society of Singapore, made it to the list in July 2015.
