At this talk, Dr Naoko Kumada, Research Fellow at S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies at Nanyang Technological University, argues that Japan's international and security policies could be understood as part of a longstanding and deeply motivated political project driven by a hereditary political elite. She will also examine how the Abe administration's strategies for post-war political reform will affect Japan's relationship with South-east Asia.
