Korean Tapas at Guksu

Guksu has added a selection of Korean-inspired tapas items to its menu of favourite Korean dishes. They include the Kalbi Taco, with marinated beef short rib and leek salad in a crisp taco shell; Pommes Gratinees, oven-roasted potatoes stuffed with a choice of pork bulgogi, beef bulgogi or eggplant, served with a creamy cheddar cheese sauce; Dak Moruno, chicken and Korean rice cakes glazed with spicy sauce; the Pear Pasteles, yuzu-marinated Korean pear with green grape, beetroot, caramelised walnut and ricotta cheese on a puff pastry crust; Perilla Egg Benedict, with kimchi and a perilla Hollandaise sauce; Kimchi Rulade with mashed sweet potato, white kimchi and water kimchi slush; Kimchi Arancini, a deep-fried ball of kimchi rice with mozzarella cheese; and deep-fried Breaded Mozzarella Kimchi.

Italian semi-lunch buffet at Pontini

Chef Daniele Sarno unveils a new Saturday special, a semi-lunch buffet of Italian favourites. Sample antipasti such as seafood on ice, marinated octopus salad with potatoes, green beans and lemon zest, smoked marlin carpaccio with baby spinach, black olives and small capers, black truffle frittata, home-cured Scottish salmon, and more. At live stations, chefs will prepare pan-seared foie gras with fruit chutney, pan-brioche, white truffle honey and aged balsamic vinegar, roast spring chicken with assorted grilled vegetables, and Chianti red wine jus. At the live pizza station, diners can design their own pizza and calzone. They can also mix and match pastas such as orecchiette, tagliatelle, potato gnocchi, and ricotta and spinach ravioli, with sauces and toppings that include roasted Italian sausage, wild mushrooms and chestnuts, black truffle carbonara sauce, sauteed fresh prawns and more. Signature tiramisu, espresso creme brulee, almond and pear tart, ricotta cheese pie, cornmeal cake, and traditional Tuscan panforte deliver a grand finale.

Tiong Bahru Bakery reinvents and amps up its award-winning croissants with a suite of savoury fillings. New items are the Cheeky Chicken Savoury Croissant, a modern take on classic egg mayo, stuffed with a creamy molten-centred ramen egg, mayonnaise, bonito flakes and a sprinkle of togarashi for heat; the Flying Pig Savoury Croissant, baked with a layer of caramelised onion jam, tangy sun-blushed tomatoes, piquant pork sausage and a light drizzle of miso dressing; the Rolling Dumpling Savoury Croissant, inspired by Chinese xiao long bao, stuffed with minced pork filling and topped with sesame seeds, then baked and finished with pickled ginger, black vinegar sauce and fresh chives; and the Jumping Fish Savoury Croissant, with salmon, spinach and ricotta baked into the buttery dough, and topped with creme fraiche, smoked salmon curls and fresh dill to serve. Prive Grill

Prive Grill introduces a new menu founded on French flavours. These include modern twists on favourites such as Aumoniere d'Escargots with creamed spinach, parmesan, mushrooms and persillade dressing; main courses such as lemon sole meuniere with Yukon gold potatoes, almonds, caper-parsley sauce and lemon, and hay-roasted pigeon with Jerusalem artichokes, fava beans, cepe mushrooms and thyme-verjus reduction; and a 2kg bone-in grain-fed Angus tomahawk steak serving two to three people, carved table-side and served with butter-glazed baby carrots, potato sarladaises, garlic confit and bone marrow.
