Painting With Light: South-east Asian Film Series

The July edition of this film series features two cinematic gems from Laos. Bouadeng (Red Lotus, PG13) by Som-Ock Southiphonh tells the story of two lovers separated by civil war. Pai Tang (At The Horizon. NC16) by Anysay Keola pushes the boundaries of censorship with its depiction of the class divide in the communist state.
