Angie stood on the red stone street, which turned to grey higher up the slope. Her hands were on the bars of Joey's stroller. She gazed at the grand shophouses and the towering trees, their branches outstretched. At half past five this afternoon, the sky was dark. She had pushed Joey up there on nothing but a whim and a wish, to visit a house she'd seen when she first came to Singapore. A home to dream about.
