Lotus' 2,000hp electric Evija supercar will not come with Launch Control, a popular program used to propel a car from standstill as quickly as possible.

Mr David McIntyre, Lotus' executive director for the Asia-Pacific, says: "You put the car in Track mode and just floor the throttle."
