Slathered in sinfully thick and luscious peanut gravy, the satay bee hoon ($4, $5 and $6) from Meng Hui Satay Bee Hoon is certainly worth perspiring for.

The stall has been operating at Albert Centre Market and Food Centre for more than 30 years. Owner Chua Cher Hee, 64, cannot remember the exact year he started his business.
