ARANYAPRATHET, THAILAND (THE NATION / ANN) - Five central provinces, namely Sa Kaew, Prachin Buri, Chachoengsao, Nakhon Nayok and Samut Prakan have been chosen to promote tourism in this central region.

"These five provinces have a lot of potential and the government is eager to o promote them. This region borders Cambodia and is not far from Vietnam. The government recently signed an MOU with Banteay Meanchey, Cambodia, and Can Tho, Vietnam, to open opportunities for trade, investment and tourism in the future," says Police Lieutenant Natthapich Sanitwong Na Ayudthaya, an assistant to the Minister of Interior.

The festival features performances and many fun activities, as well as local food from various communities.

It brings together the provinces to work as a group while helping local entrepreneurs meet business partners in Asean countries so that they can expand their business and generate income for their region.

Sa Kaew is rich in history and culture. It is home to people of various ethnic backgrounds, and Aranayprathet district is Thailand's border to Cambodia. It is a gateway that brings in business people and visitors from Cambodia.
