Singapore is crowned champion at Expogast Culinary World Cup

Singapore's national culinary team was named overall champion at the prestigious Expogast Culinary World Cup in Luxembourg earlier tonight.

It beat 29 other teams from countries such as Sweden, Germany and the United States, to take top position. This is the third consecutive year that Singapore has taken top honours.

The team clinched gold medals in hot cooking and cold display categories.

This year's team comprises Louis Tay, executive chef of The Tanglin Club; Yew Eng Tong, chef de cuisine of celebrity chef restaurant Ocean by Cat Cora at Resorts World Sentosa; Teo Yeow Siang, a chef at Lavish Dine catering; Jim Gim from Marina Bay Sands; and Triston Fang, sous chef at Equinox at Swissotel The Stamford; and Ivy Wong, pastry chef at Swissotel The Stamford.
