Simpler menu, delightful surprises

Modern Australian diner Cheek Bistro carries on where Cheek By Jowl left off, offering a small selection, but still using ingredients in ways that excite the palate

Cheek By Jowl, a one-Michelin-starred restaurant in Boon Tat Street, was replaced by the more casual Cheek Bistro last month. But, as you would have guessed by the similar names, in essence, not that much has changed.

Think of the new bistro as the previous restaurant's diffusion line - to borrow a fashion term - where the dishes may be simpler but the cooking philosophy is the same. Styled as modern Australian, ingredients are similarly matched in ways designed to surprise the palate.
