The annual Dragon Boat Festival or Duan Wu Jie returns on June 18 and hotels and restaurants are already rolling out pyramids and parcels of wrapped glutinous rice.

The festival honours the death of famous Chinese Warring States poet Qu Yuan, who is said to have waded into a river to commit suicide after his country's capital was captured.
