1 HOUSE OF ROASTED DUCK

Get your fix of the bird from the House of Roasted Duck, which has opened its second outlet at Jalan Sultan. Its other restaurant is at Bugis Village.

Do not miss the crispy roasted duck ($52 for a whole duck) with house-made dipping sauce, and Peking duck ($52 for a whole duck). Other dishes include fried rice with diced duck and egg ($14), and congee with abalone and roasted duck ($12.80).

The menu also features soya sauce chicken ($36, whole), shrimp wonton noodle ($6.80 with soup, $7.80, dry) and dim sum items.

House of Roasted Duck is owned by Gao Ji Food, which also runs the Koo Kee Yong Tow Foo Mee chain.

2 RIVERSIDE GRILLED FISH

With 54 outlets in China, the first Riverside Grilled Fish restaurant opens in Singapore tomorrow at Raffles City Shopping Centre. The 5,000 sq ft restaurant seats 150 people.

Pick from fish such as red tilapia ($35), sea bass ($35), black pomfret ($38) and garoupa ($42) to go with any of eight sauces. Sauce options include the signature fragrant spicy sauce, black bean sauce and spicy ma la sauce.

Choose from 18 side dishes such as sausages, pork belly, tofu sheets and flat vermicelli to be cooked with the whole grilled fish.

Other highlights include Si Chuan crispy duck ($12.80) and pan-fried rice cake with soya powder ($6.80).

3 COYOTE

Coyote takes over the space vacated by American restaurant Spruce at Phoenix Park, and serves Tex-Mex food. Spruce at the Old Fire Station in Upper Bukit Timah is still open.

At Coyote, appetisers include Elote ($15), which is Mexican grilled corn with mayonnaise, Cotija cheese and chilli pepper with lime wedges; Coyote signature salad ($19); and tequila wings ($17).

Main courses include Coyote burger ($20) with herbed potato wedges; signature camerones pasta ($22); and papaya cod ($38) served with kerabu salad, frijoles quinoa and papaya sauce.

For dessert, check out the ginger date pudding ($15) with warm chocolate and Kapiti ice cream (from New Zealand), and amigo churros ($14) with Mexican chocolate sauce.

4 POCOLOCO MICROBREWERY

Six months after the first PocoLoco opened in Ang Mo Kio, serving affordable Italian food, the second outlet has opened at Snow City in Jurong East.

The microbrewery features handcrafted beers to go with dishes such as Barbabietola Rossa, which is pasta with beetroot ($9); Zafferano ($12), seafood pasta with saffron sauce; Nero ($13), which is squid ink risotto; and Tagliata Manzo ($20), which is thinly sliced beef tenderloin with rucola salad.

Dessert options include panna cotta ($5), creme brulee ($5) and tiramisu ($6).

Pair the food with beer such as verde ($7), a green lager brewed with seaweed barley malt; birra di frumento ($7), a light-bodied wheat beer; and dunkel ($8), a dark beer made with different barley malts.

5 DANRO COLLAGEN HOTPOT BUFFET & BEAUTY RAMEN

It opened as a Japanese hotpot restaurant in 2013, but ceased operations a year later due to high food and operational costs. Two weeks ago, Danro re-launched at Waterway Point in Punggol, serving collagen hotpot buffet as well as ramen.

Its signature collagen soup bases - chicken, pork and salmon miso - are slow-boiled for 10 hours. For adults, the buffet is priced at $14.90++ (weekday, 11.30am to 4pm, one-hour dining period) or $24.90++ (weekend lunch, 11.30am to 4pm, and daily dinner, from 5.30pm, 80-minute dining period). For children, it is priced at $11.90++ daily.

The ramen (from $13.90++, pictured) is served in a hotstone bowl with a choice of the signature collagen soup used for the hotpot. Those who want rice can pick the mini collagen nabe sets, priced from $13.90++. The ramen, nabe sets and a la carte menu are available only on weekdays from 11.30am to 4pm.
