THE KITCHEN BY WOLFGANG PUCK

Located in the departure lounge of Changi Airport's Terminal 3, The Kitchen by Wolfgang Puck might be one restaurant that is harder to get to.

However, travellers can still check out this casual dining restaurant, the first in Asia by the Austrian celebrity chef, before they jet off. There are outlets in Dubai, Canada and the United States.

To suit an international palate, this outlet has a wide repertoire of global dishes. They range from Wolfgang Puck's signature dish, Chinois Chicken Salad ($20), which is served with napa cabbage, wontons, cashews and a ginger-sesame vinaigrette; to Asian dishes such as the Korean Beef Shortribs, which is served with spicy kimchi ($17).

Dishes that are exclusive to the Singapore restaurant include the Asian BBQ Chicken ($23) and the Grilled Australian Ribeye ($45) with Kalbi glaze.

TENGAWA HOKKAIDO WHITE CURRY

Japanese curry restaurants might be a dime a dozen here, but Tengawa Hokkaido White Curry aims to stand out from the pack.

While most diners may know of Japanese curry as a thick brown sauce that is ladled over rice, the highlight at this 36-seat restaurant is its white curry, which is prepared with fresh Hokkaido milk.

The curry is available with three set meals: Iberico pork patty ($15.80), chicken katsu ($15.80) and ebi fry ($16.80). All dishes are served with rice, miso soup, truffle oil chawanmushi and picked vegetables.

The Keisuke Prime Beef Hamburg set comes with a 150g beef patty and includes fried shrimp, fried beancurd and tofu with bonito flakes. The Triple Cheese Prime Beef Hamburg set has a 180g beef patty that is stuffed with cheddar, mozzarella and parmesan cheese.
