SINTOK (THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - Celebrity chef, Chef Wan, has been appointed an adjunct professor of Universiti Utara Malaysia's Tourism Management, Hospitality and Environmental School.

Mr Wan, 59, whose real name is Datuk Redzuawan Ismail, was given his appointment letter by UUM board chairman Tan Sri Siti Sa'diah Sheikh Bakir.

The ceremony was also witnessed by UUM vice-chancellor Datuk Seri Dr Mohamed Mustafa Ishak.

Dr Mustafa said the appointment of Chef Wan as adjunct professor was based on his vast experience on being a chef.

"He has all the experience which could be essential to students and he is also experienced in the country and overseas.

"Chef Wan is appointed for a duration of two years. His appointment takes effect Feb 1 and ends on Jan 31, 2019.

"His appointment too will be very valuable to other professors and students," he said in his speech during UUM's 33rd anniversary and the appointment of adjunct professors at its campus here on Sunday (March 19).
