Japan's third oldest whisky maker is using Singapore as a springboard to quench the thirst for whisky in the regional market

While the big boys of the Japanese whisky world like Suntory and Nikka struggle to keep up with voracious global demand for the amber liquid, Mars distillery - the third-oldest whisky maker in Japan - is stepping up to fill the gap.

While many of its releases were previously available only in Japan, the small distillery is now looking to Singapore as a springboard to the rest of the region.
