Some of the finest cheeses to be found in Singapore are stored in The Cheese Ark, located in an old block of flats in the Queenstown area. Owner Syu Ai Ming, 47, who has worked in cheese farms overseas, sources carefully, picking from small, artisanal producers.

I first visited her at her shop at PasarBella in Turf Club Road, but find the new place a lot easier to get to. Customers can sit down and enjoy cheese boards paired with wines. This is a good way to sample a variety of cheeses before committing to buying a chunk. Reservations for a seat at the communal table are essential.
