TOKYO - New York-based pastry chef Dominique Ansel, famed creator of the cronut, has fashioned another chewy blockbuster, and it's in 3D.

The ChurroDuo consists of two interlocking pyramids constructed out of black and white sesame churros. It's served with a warm caramel sauce.

"They complete each other," Ansel said in an Instagram post.

Ansel's Tokyo cafe introduced the new item on Nov 19, and he is considering adding it to the menu in his New York and London cafes.

Ansel has been a prolific producer of Instagram-worthy sweets, and the cronut is not the only one that has gone viral.

Besides the cronut, Ansel's other inventive desserts include the Frozen S'more (ice cream and chocolate encased in torched marshmellow) and chocolate chip cookie shots (a cookie shot glass served with warm milk).

More recently, videos of his blossoming hot chocolate, featuring marshmellow flowers that 'bloom' when dropped into the hot chocolate, have been going viral on social media.
