Bubble economy: Mooncake sellers ride on bubble tea trend

Banking on Singaporeans' insatiable thirst for bubble tea, mooncake sellers are taking inspiration from the beverage for this year's mooncake creations.

The most innovative one comes from home-grown brand ChangHoSek, which puts chewy tapioca pearls into its snowskin mooncakes. Offerings from other brands include the use of konjac jelly as well as puffed cereal as a "pearl" element.
