Who: Mr Sim Lih Cherng, 38, managing director of home-grown boulangerie and cake shop Barcook Bakery. The bakery chain specialises in soft buns and bread loaves as well as croissants and cakes.

The Malaysia-born baker, who grew up in Tuaran, Sabah, took a professional baking course in Taiwan in 2005 and honed his craft at various bakeries in Singapore.
