With a top speed of 20kmh, this special Lego project is infinitely slower than the world's fastest production car that inspired it, but Lego's replication (above) of the 1,500hp Bugatti Chiron is equally impressive in technical terms.

The 1:1 scale model used more than one million Lego Technic elements of 339 types, more than 2,000 little motors and 4,032 gear wheels. Everything is interconnected like brickwork, so no glue was needed. The engineering result is a 1.5-tonne "car" with 5.3 horsepower and 92Nm of torque, complete with a functioning cockpit modelled on the Chiron's.
