THREE WATCH COLLABORATIONS TO LOOK OUT FOR

• Christian Louboutin x Jaeger-LeCoultre

For the 85th anniversary of its classic Reverso watch, 183-year-old luxury Swiss watch maker JaegerLeCoultre has collaborated with French shoe designer Christian Louboutin for seven variations of the watch style.

Some feature two rows of diamonds on either side of the dial or with a textured mother-of-pearl dial, and there are watch straps with different textures, colours and embellishments. And in a nod to his signature red-soled shoes, Louboutin designed some of the watch straps to be red on the inside. The Reverso Classic Medium stainless steel timepiece starts from $16,570 while the Reverso Classic Small pink gold timepiece costs from $28,870.

The watches are available at the Jaeger-LeCoultre boutique at Ion Orchard (02-08) and The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands (B2M-240).

• Richard Mille x Cyril Kongo

Paris-based street graffiti artist Cyril Kongo, who is known for his colourful large-scale murals, has collaborated with luxury Swiss watch brand Richard Mille to produce the RM 68-01 watch (photo).

The contemporary timepiece is done in Kongo's signature colourful palette, with the watch's different movement bridges meant to mimic brushstrokes. It is housed in a NTPT Carbon caseband with black ceramic bezels.

The painting technique for this piece took more than a year of experimentation and required special tools to spray just enough paint on the watch components without disturbing the watch movement's balance.

There are only 30 pieces of the RM 68-01 Tourbillon Cyril Kongo timepiece worldwide. The watch is available at Richard Mille boutiques here at Grand Hyatt Hotel, The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands and Hotel Michael at Resorts Word Sentosa. Price available on request.

• Casio G-Shock's 20th anniversary

For its G-Shock MR-G's 20th anniversary, Casio has created a limitededition G-Shock MR-G watch model called the MRG-G1000HT (photo).

Created in collaboration with Japanese tsuiki artisan Bihou Asano, each watch features Akagane and Oboro-gin finishes, which give the timepiece its deep copper colour and a unique silver-grey finish for the bezel and watch band.

Mr Asano is a third-generation master artisan of tsuiki, which is the traditional metal-working method where a sheet of metal is hammered into shape.

Only 300 pieces of the watches will be sold worldwide. The watch, which costs $8,888, will be launched in Singapore on Tuesday exclusively at G-Factory stores and Cortina Watch.
