NEW YORK (REUTERS) - Life is a beach for Ralph Lauren, who recreated his Jamaican holiday home for the runway show of his latest collection on Monday (Feb 12), as part of New York Fashion Week: the Shows.
The veteran designer was inspired by the Jamaican beach scene, with barefoot models in breezy tie dye sundresses walking down the ocean blue runway.
The Jamaican influence was felt throughout collection, the colors of its flag appearing in colourblocked dresses, jackets and pants.
Lauren's classic double breasted suits also made a comeback, paired with relaxed espadrilles, while some looks showed the designer's sporty side such as a blue vinyl jogger pant paired with a tailored jacket.
The designer had star power present on and off the runway - with models Bella Hadid and Joan Smalls walking on the catwalk, looked on by actresses Katie Holmes, Hilary Swank and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in the front row.
