Elle cover shot on iPhone

SYDNEY • Take another look at the picture - it was not snapped using a hotshot camera.

Instead, for the cover shoot for fashion magazine Elle Australia, well-known fashion photographer Georges Antoni opted instead to use a device many people - fashionistas or not - have: an iPhone 7 Plus.

The shot of model Margaret Zhang was good enough to grace the cover of the June issue of the magazine.

But lest you think anyone can now aim for such work, that career option is still a long shot for most.

Antoni can call the shots in discussions with his clients because his track record includes shooting Bella Hadid for Harper's Bazaar, noted the petapixel.com portal.

But while he may not adopt the unconventional approach again, Antoni did see the larger picture. "One thing that struck me was how liberating it was to shoot and not worry about lenses, tripods and tethering to the computer.

"It's also such an interesting dynamic to see how the public are so conditioned to seeing people shooting on their phones that they don't really take notice, so the shoot could happen in a much more stealthy way."
