SINGAPORE - The English author and naturalist Robert Macfarlane writes in his book, The Old Ways, that "Anyone who lives in a city will know the feeling of having been there too long."

That sense of urban malaise and restlessness which he refers to is perhaps entering the consciousness of fashion designers of late, who are looking increasingly to the great outdoors for inspiration.
