NEW YORK • Mr Clemente Dimonda climbed into a barber chair, explaining how he came to operate a barbershop in Manhattan, and cut the hair of a generation of menswear executives, including Ralph Lauren.
"I used to work in Queens" he said. "One of the old men, Sicilian guy, he used to work in the shop where I used to work. One day, this man grabbed me by the jacket and said, 'You're too qualified for this area. You got to go to New York.'"
