There were lions and giraffes when Dior celebrated its 70th anniversary on Monday with a show outside the Invalides museum in Paris. The animal props were a link to the brand's founder Christian Dior's travels around the world. On a fern-lined catwalk, designer Maria Grazia Chiuri presented the autumn- winter collection. She was hired as the label's first female creative director last year as Dior sought to appeal to younger consumers and fight a global luxury spending downturn.
