SINGAPORE - Part of what makes hit Japanese zombie comedy One Cut Of The Dead so funny is the number of ridiculous problems that the film-making crew in the story run into while trying to shoot their movie - an actor gets drunk, equipment breaks down and lines are forgotten.

It turns out that in real life, writer-director Shinichiro Ueda had his fair share of issues to tackle.
