When Game Of Thrones premiered on HBO in 2011, the people most excited about the show were probably those who had read George R. R. Martin's series of fantasy novels, A Song Of Ice And Fire.
By now, the show has grown into a global phenomenon and gone ahead of the books. According to cable and broadband giant Comcast's data for its video-on-demand platform, it was the most popular television show in the United States last year, despite not airing any new episodes.
