Husband-and-wife creators of the science-fiction drama have the whole multi-season arc and end-game mapped out, and switch genres to keep the TV series compelling

Like any television creators, Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy were secretly hoping viewers would engage with their brainchild Westworld - a science-fiction drama about a futuristic theme park where androids fulfil dark human desires.

But the husband-and-wife collaborators - who write, produce and direct the Emmy-winning show - did not expect the sophisticated fan analysis that accompanied the first season in 2016.
