LONDON • Reel-life and real-life couple Alicia Vikander and Michael Fassbender are set to wed on the party island of Ibiza next month, British reports say.

Oscar-winner Vikander, 28, and Oscar-nominee Fassbender, 40, fell in love while filming the 2016 weepie The Light Between Oceans.

He is said to have proposed to her and to be splurging on a secret wedding party, reports The Sun. Their guests will stay at a five-star resort at his expense.

In an interview with Reuters, Vikander said she had met Fassbender on the awards circuit before filming The Light Between Oceans in New Zealand in 2014.

Director Derek Cianfrance asked the pair to live together in a remote lighthouse for a month during filming, before news of their romance broke.

They are not the first couple to have emerged from a Cianfrance film. Actors Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes, who paired off after starring in The Place Beyond The Pines (2012), now have two daughters.
